Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead, rejoice!

Executive producer of post-apocalyptic zombie television show, Gale Anne Hurd, will be honored with an award for Achievement in American Film at the Charleston International Film Festival (CIFF) awards gala on Sunday, April 13th.

Known as the “First Lady of Sci-Fi,” Hurd’s career includes producing Academy Award-winning films such as The Terminator, Aliens, The Incredible Hulk, and Armageddon. CIFF President/Co-Founder Summer Peacher said, “Gale Anne Hurd is truly a living legend in the business. We are thrilled to recognize her accomplishments with our award for Achievement in American Film at the festival’s closing gala.”

CIFF’s top filmmakers and scriptwriters will be honored at the the awards gala in categories such as best feature, short, documentary, foreign film, and animation, as well as a screenplay award and special honors for best actress and actor.

This year’s award gala will include a cocktail reception, live music, and three-course dinner served by Cru Catering.
