Charleston International Film Festival

Sottile Theatre, Charleston Music Hall, Memminger Auditorium

Tickets: $10 ($2 with student ID)   |   843.817.1617   |   charlestoniff.com

Seven years ago, Charleston International Film Festival (CIFF) creators, husband and wife Brian and Summer Peacher, decided to establish this premier non-profit festival in Chucktown.  This April, the CIFF is excited to, once again, bring the joy that revolves around the cinema to our own movie-famous streets.  From directors to the audience, the screenwriters to the cameras—all are recognized during this five-day event.

Feature films, shorts, and documentaries covering a wide-ranging subject matter will screen in three downtown locations.  Other happenings during the CIFF include receptions, Q&A sessions, workshops, after parties, and the closing Awards Gala, where a special recipient of the Spire Lifetime Achievement Award will be honored.

The scope of the festival’s reach only gets wider each year.  The new high school outreach “Script to Screen” education initiative will screen the very first adaptation of a winning script on the projection reel.  How lucky must that high school student feel, knowing that their work is being played alongside various films from not just the U.S., but also Australia, Kosovo, France, the UK, and China.

So primp yourselves for the red carpet.  Prepare for the gamut of emotions that amazing films bring when participating in this cross-cultural fête that relies on both our appreciation for the cinematic past and our excitement for how contemporary directors, amateurs, and seniors, all across the globe, are shaping its future.
