Lake Eden Arts Festival LEAF Spring 2013, photo by Norma Marie Farrell

We sent one of our lovely, talented photographers Norma Marie Farrell up to LEAF, the Lake Eden Arts Festival, this past weekend.  We’re totally jealous we weren’t able to go with her as it looked like it was just an amazing time with all the various types of world music like Mavis Staples, Steel Pulse, Peter Rowan, Ozomatli, Abigail Washburn and so much more on the main Lakeside Stage. Other fantastic eye and ear candies consisted of LEAF’s famous poetry slam, the contradance barn (both personal favorites of mine), a super cool kids’ village, yoga in the morning, belly-dancing on the green in the afternoon, and an awesome fire show at night by the Unifire troupe from Asheville (another personal fave)!  Oh yeah, and there’s a zip-line from the mountain to the lake.

Here’s her recap:

“Ladies and gentlemen, once again the LEAF Festival went above and beyond to give the masses what they want.  The festival was fun filled with everything from a children’s circus to a stellar masquerade to stimulate those who dare to explore.  The entertainment was lively and I personally could not have asked for a better fire show. Above all, the general spirit of those who joined together to celebrate the talent of numerous performers was positivity at its best.  With an array of diversity, wind, rain, and talent LEAF Festival has once again given us amazing memories that will continue to inspire.
