Artist on Fire celebrates the good things in life in its forth annual visual arts exhibit as part of the Piccolo Spoleto festival. “Sweet!” applauds childhood memories, true love, the mystery of youth, special moments and pays homage to the splendor of creation, the night sky, and heavenly spaces.

The show will feature paintings by Alex Radin, Hilary Siber, and Elianna Radin; photography exhibits by Kimberly Krauk, Helena Rutan, and Jacquelyn Hiott & Bethany Jaenicke; a sculptural installation room by Karen DeLoach and Jan Placko; a short abstract film by Sara Radin; mixed media works by Amelia Whaley and Melanie Spinks; a drawing by Neriya Radin, and poetry by Helena Rutan, Alex Radin, and Sara Radin.

Local roots/pop band Volcanoes in the Kitchen will debut four new songs opening night and will play at various other times throughout the show.

Artist on Fire co-founders Alex and Sara Radin make this year’s show a family affair as they involve all three of their children in the creative process. Eight year old Elianna is presenting her new series “Undiscovered Wonders” featuring 10 acrylic paintings of birds created from her imagination. Five year old Neriya is designing and coloring a 12 foot layered cake that hangs at the entrance to the show, and almost two year old Judah is featured in a photographic series by Jacquelyn Hiott and Bethany Jaenicke.

The exhibit is free and open to the public at Citadel Square Baptist Church, 328 Meeting Street, (off of the Henrietta St. entrance, on the 3rd floor), May 23-June 7. Opening and Artist Reception: Thursday, May 23, 5 – 8pm; live music by Volcanoes in the Kitchen; catering by Sugar & Spice.

Hours: May 24 – June 7, Monday – Friday, 11am – 6pm; closed Saturday & Sunday
