The Gibbes Museum of Art hosts the IV Annual Street Party
May 2, 2013
7:30 - 10 pm
$100 - 135

For the fourth year, the Gibbes Museum of Art will throw a street party in front of the museum at 135 Meeting Street. Gibbes on the Street will celebrate the unveiling of the People’s Choice Exhibition, and invite patrons to enjoy an evening of food, fun, and music in the middle of Meeting Street. The festivities will take place on Thursday, May 2, from 7:30 – 10pm on Meeting Street between Cumberland and Queen.

Guests will enjoy a melding of the visual and culinary arts with savories and sweets provided by Charleston’s most celebrated chefs. Participating restaurants and purveyors include Bon Bahn Mi, Caviar & Bananas, Charleston Grill, Circa 1886, Cypress, FIG, The Glass Onion, Hank’s, The Grocery, The Macintosh, McCrady’s, Oak, Palmetto Café, Red Drum, Slightly North of Broad, Sugar Bakeshop, Wild Olive, and WildFlour Pastry. An open bar will feature Ciroc Ultra Premium, Bulleit Bourbon, and Canyon Road Winery. “Art work from our permanent collection will come alive in this year’s highly anticipated Street Party. After a month of voting on the People’s Choice website, the top selections will be unveiled. Performers will breathe life into portraits, landscapes and abstract paintings, diminishing the barriers between the community and art,” said Gibbes Executive Director Angela D. Mack.

Gibbes on the Street is sponsored by U. S. Trust, William Means Christies Great Estates, Croghan’s, Carriage Properties, All Occasions, PDA, Jet Blue, and Charleston Magazine.
