The Gibbes Museum of Art is the city's premier institution linking art of our past with the present, with a focus on Southern and Charleston Renaissance artwork. The Gibbes features a strong permanent collection, with an exquisite miniatures collection, representative works of Charleston's bright, early 20th Century revival, and modern Southern masters. Rotating exhibitions explore the relevant artwork being produced around the South, the many cultural influences and themes that guide those artists.
Located in the heart of downtown Charleston, the Gibbes welcomes visitors Tuesdays - Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Sundays from 1 - 5 pm. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, students, and military, $5 for children 6 - 12 years old, and free for children under 6 years old.
