WHAT:

Submit your best t-shirt design incorporating the ‘Redux’ name for our contest and exhibition. The submissions will be displayed in the Conolly Studio Gallery. The three winners – Redux choice, People’s choice, Conolly’s choice – will be printed on t-shirts and sold for $20 to benefit Redux Contemporary Art Center.

WHEN:

July 31, 2013: Submissions are due. Mail or drop off at Redux, Redux Shirt Design Competition, 136 St. Philip Street, Charleston SC 29403

August 2 – 23, 2013: Artwork will be on display in the Conolly Gallery at Redux, during which time voting will take place. All are welcome to view and vote on the shirts!

Friday, August 30 from 6 – 8 pm: the public is invited to a reception to view the three winning designs and purchase their very own work of art t-shirt, screen printed by the Redux artists!

SUBMISSIONS:

This is an open call for entries; all are welcome to apply. Submissions designs should be drawn or printed on 8 ½ x 11 inches up to 13 x 19 inches on white paper, unframed, along with the entry form and $10 entry fee (cash or check made out to Redux). Fees will be used to offset the cost of t-shirts and fund prizes to the three winning submissions. The design must include: ‘Redux’ or ‘Redux Contemporary Art Center,’ 2-color maximum. Original artwork only. No photographic reproduction. Design must be suitable for screenprinting.

PRIZES:

The three winning designs will get a hand screen printed t-shirt of their design, a gift certificate to Artist & Craftsman, and endless promotion of their work via Redux store, website, social media and more.

THE FINE PRINT:

T-shirt design submissions should be able to print on a standard male or female t-shirt. All submissions will be retained as the property of Redux Contemporary Art Center, and we reserve the right to use the designs in future marketing materials, exhibitions, etc. Submissions without the $10 entry fee or form will not be considered. Submissions should be of a family-friendly nature—there are little people making art in here too! The artwork must be your own, original design, and may not infringe on any artist’s published, unpublished, or copyrighted work.
