UPDATES to our Thursday night Picks:
Reason #1 you should attend the next Mojitos & Stilettos event: my friend Meredith won a DRESS of her choice, which she’s going to wear on her honeymoon. Reason #2: my boyfriend’s friend Lance won a pair of earrings; seems like a bummer? Not so, says Lance: Mother’s Day is done!
Mojitos & Stilettos is back tonight. Bring your ladies (and your men!) to Shine on King Street from 5 to 10 pm for $5 Bacardi Mojitos, great happy hour specials on food, and the stylishly trendy k. morgan boutique will be there too!
Dark Dark Dark will be playing at Eye Level Art with the Tyler Ross Double Trio tonight from 8 to 11 pm. The folks at ELA describe the headliners as musicians “with intricate song-craft and playful sensibilities, Dark Dark Dark uses their small array of age-old instruments to conjure a lush musical vision of the future.” Double Trio is made up of local guys and some guests who “will be interpreting the classic Miles Davis album “Kind of Blue.” Contrary to the original recording by Davis, expect a high energy groove-based version…” Get your tickets at etix.com or visiting Eye Level Art’s website. You should definitely check this show out!
And for all you Twitter folks, today is the Charleston Twestival! Twitter + Festival = Twestival, and it’s all for a good cause. The organization is Concern and their goal with Charleston Twestival is to provide a classroom of needy students one solid meal a day, which they need $6,000 to do. Purchase your tickets for $15, go to Community Yoga in Marion Square from 1 to 3 pm, by Rebekah Jacob Gallery 5:30 to 7 pm to check, then mosey up King to the Real Estate Studio for DJ Natty Heavy from 6 to 9 pm.
And make sure to follow @chasartmag on Twitter for all your artistic updates!
