The Music Initiative and This is Noteworthy {tin} have joined forces with Rockers for Knockers, Inc. to produce music for the third annual event on Shem Creek. The team at Rockers for Knockers, Inc., along with sponsors Southern Eagle, Bud Light, and Goose Island Honkers, will raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness on this day of music, festivities, and fun. The all-day event will feature live music as a well as a pub crawl to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Lowcountry and Intregrative Cancer Care organizations. Celebrate the lives of those who have been saved and those who have passed while surrounded by positive music and people who care. Headlining the event will be Elise Testone.
This year anticipates being “the Breast year ever” as the musicians selected to play will have a tie to the disease itself. The Music Initiative in junction with This Is Noteworthy {tin} will produce a live-to-tape version of the popular local music television program Eclectic Evenings from the event. Participating bands will have the opportunity to play a 45-minute to an hour-long set each between noon and 5 pm on the day of the event, and will be featured in an individual video segment as part of this special Eclectic Evenings broadcast.
For more information or to apply, bands need to submit two songs, a photograph, and a short description about how they have been affected by (any type of) cancer to Carrie Cranford of Rockers for Knockers. Musicians will be compensated. Submissions will be accepted July 18 – Aug 15, decisions will be made August 16 -17, and chosen bands will be notified by August 18.
Whether you are musically gifted or not, come out on October 13 to support a great cause!
