What better way to spend a Sunday than to be engaged in artful splendor amidst the cistern’s wispy oaks? The 4th Annual OPEN Arts Expo capped off the Summer with over 40 local nonprofit performing, visual, and literary arts organizations’ effort to reveal their upcoming Fall endeavors.
To add to the ideal weather, the Cistern Yard was hustling and bustling with people prepared to be enlightened by local art.

Vendors and local art organizations were jovial and eager to spread the word about their next offerings to the Charleston community; and even more excited to welcome newcomers into the mix.
OPEN had available fun for every art lover. Children could enjoy hands-on art activities, like tambourine making and Redux’s screen printing station. Parents and young people inquired about local happenings while being serenaded by a multitude of performances in the natural arena.
Whether it be the jingle of the belly dancers’ costumes, the echoing riffs of the Heartfelt Hinges or the sneak peak of Threshold’s scenes from their new season, the event was surely a success. OPEN paved the way for an exciting Fall season and magnetically drew in the aesthetics of the city to share their common love of all things art.
