News > The Official Piccolo Spoleto Festival Poster Has Been Unveiled!

The official poster for the 2014 Piccolo Spoleto Festival has been unveiled! This year’s colorful poster features the artwork of local illustrator Timothy Banks. We are so excited to share that in addition to being the official Piccolo poster artwork, Banks’ piece is also the cover of Art Mag’s Festival issue!

Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. and the Director of the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs, Scott Watson, unveiled the poster at a press conference on Thursday morning in Washington Square Park. Watson described the work, which depicts an illustration of an octopus performing on stage, as the “quintessential reflection of Piccolo Spoleto. Multi-faceted, set in a distinctively Charleston context, and full of joy and whimsy.”
