Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ knows how to put on a party. On Monday night the popular West Ashley BBQ joint welcomed local musicians for an evening filled with Blues, Americana, Rock, and Soul music. The night’s line-up was vast and included the likes of Travelin’ Kine, Luke Cunningham, Josh Roberts and the Hinges, Royal Tinfoil, and Gaslight Street. Each band was impressive on its own, but, taken as a whole, this group is truly a demonstration of Charleston’s local talent.
In addition to toe-tapping music, Home Team BBQ served up a host of, you guessed it, barbeque. Guest chowed down on chicken wings, brisket, ribs, and hearty sides like mac-n-cheese and baked beans. Beers were bountiful, and Mississippi Mules also seemed to be a popular choice. While most attendees opted for in-door seating close to the music, some ventured outside to enjoy picnic tables situated under strings of glowing patio lights.

By the end of the night, there were some pretty competitive games of corn hole going on.

All in all, Holy City Confessionals proved to be a relaxing way to finish off a random Monday night in the middle of summer. Not only did I get to gobble up some pulled-pork tacos, but I also got to experience the best of Charleston’s music scene.
