If you’re an artist (or happen to know one) that is looking for a place to showcase their work, you’re in luck. The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is now accepting applications for open slots in the North Charleston City Gallery and The Meeting Place to be displayed from July 21014 through June 2015. Visual artists and art groups may submit their work, and selections will be made by a review panel appointed by the department. In order to be considered, submissions must be received or post marked by November 30, 2013. To apply, download an application from the Applications and Registration Forms section at the City of North Charleston’s Cultural Arts Page.
The North Charleston City Gallery will feature only two dimensional works. This space offers amazing exposure for artists, whose work will be seen by thousands of local patrons and out-of-towners. The exhibits may feature to or more artists at a time, and they rotate on a monthly basis.
The Meeting Place features both two dimensional and three dimensional works. It offers a more public exhibition opportunity for artists; pieces are installed in the building’s display windows, offering 24 hour visibility to visitors. These exhibits are also rotated on a monthly or bi-monthly basis and may feature numerous artists at one time.
Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity for your work to be showcased in either of these beautiful spaces along side other talented local artists.
