News > Review: Redux Revival

For anyone in need of an awakening, the Redux Revival at Redux Contemporary Art Center this past Saturday was just the place to be. Patch Whisky’s mural was an appropriate backdrop for the evening and sparked conversations with its vibrancy. Guests enjoyed getting tattooed by Artist & Craftsman’s nouveau henna booth, where they could receive custom designs. Outta my Huevos, Roti Rolls and King of Pops were ready to dish out provisions for those who needed a snack.

Art gawkers got lost in Gweneth Scally’s “Wilderness Management” exhibit and other works displayed in the maze of studio space. The more informal art yard sale allowed shoppers to sort through a kaleidoscopic array of affordable works and refill their cups of Holy City beer. At the end of the maze, the T-shirt design contest submissions and winner could be viewed. People got excited about the blue-ribbon design, the redux hot air balloon, which was a cool parody of the Remax balloon.

The event made for a perfect opportunity for Redux to acquire more members and support. People who joined on Saturday got a one-of-a kind resin pin made by Redux staff member Alizey Khan. Above all, Saturday was a time for attendees and staff members to relish in the revolutionary things that the community’s contemporary artists are conjuring up.
