5th Annual Charleston Green Fair
Every fall, hundreds flock to the tents in Marion Square for the Charleston Green Fair, packed full of local food vendors, the Art Mag Art Walk (!), live music, cooking demonstrations, and educational activities on how to be “green.”
Over twenty local non-profit organizations will participate this year and school you on all you need to know about living green–from water and energy conservation, recycling and waste management, to health and wellness.
This year, Charleston Green Fair is pairing up with the city’s popular weekly Farmers’ Market and “Lighten Up Charleston” campaign. Saturday will be a day of fitness and food, with cooking demos by local chefs using ingredients from the Farmers’ Market vendors. Get your body moving with interactive (and free!) yoga, zumba, and a variety of other fitness classes throughout the day.
On Saturday night, celebrate Charleston Green Fair’s 5th anniversary with a musical festival featuring local artists, yummy food trucks, and the headlining band Pimps of Joytime from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.
Come say hi to us at the Art Mag Art Walk along the paths of Marion Square on Sunday before participating in a scavenger hunt. Check out the popular Eco-Carnival and the Green Style Market, or watch some ball with the Solar Sunday NFL Ticket. Music will serenade guests from two stages, and vendors such as Triangle Char & Bar and New Belgium Beer will have food and drinks for sale.
The Charleston Green Fair is a great place to learn to live a greener lifestyle and support our local Charleston artists, businesses and organizations. Visit the Charleston Green Fair website for more information and a full list of activities and expos.
