This May, filmmaker Justin Nathanson of The Cut Company will debut a truly original and exciting project—his latest full-length film, Charleston : a love letter. Creator and director Nathanson has spent months filming this city by the sea that he has made his home, and condensing it all into 90 minutes.

Collaborating on this project is Andrew Walker, of Entropy Ensemble. Walker will compose the score for the film, featuring Entropy Ensemble. Walker will also be bringing in Charleston musicians of all kinds to enhance the work: jazz, classical, hip hop, punk, rock and more.

Super cool, right? It gets cooler. This truly multi-media performance will feature those same musicians playing on stage, in front of the Hippodrome’s enormous screen, as the film plays above them! Charleston : a love letter will have an exclusive run during the Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto Festivals, and additional screenings will be announced closer to the date.
