2nd Annual Oil Painters Association Paintout

Saturday, October 21st

The tradition of plein air painting is alive and well in Charleston. The 2nd Annual Oil Painters Association Paintout will send the artists to the streets, where visitors are invited to wander and politely observe them hard at work. Painters will set up scattered throughout the streets and alleyways just slightly north of Broad Street in the morning, then head south of Broad in the afternoon. Join them all for a reception at the Lambert Gray Gallery & Studios at 5 pm to meet the artists and take your favorite piece(s!) home with you. Lambertgraygallery.com

CFADA Fine Art Annual

November 2nd – 4th

The anchor of all these fantastic events is the Charleston Fine Art Dealers’ Association’s Fine Art Annual. The CFADA member galleries are spicing it up this year by collaborating with the Gibbes Museum of Art and Society 1858. Hit the galleries for the Fine Art Stroll on Friday evening. The super-fun folks of Society 1858 will be hosting the Rock, Scissors, Art on Paper Release Party Friday night, following the stroll.  After you check out Painting in the Park on Saturday morning, head to the Gibbes for the Art on Paper Fair. Here, collectors can purchase drawings, etchings, and more works of art on paper from CFADA member galleries. On Saturday night, head back to the Gibbes Museum for CFADA’s Buy Art event, where Painting in the Park creations will be up for silent auction, and all proceeds will go the Charleston County School District’s art teachers.
